One of the first events I attended when I began working for Idaho Business Review last year was its Women of the Year awards ceremony.

Right away, I was struck by how well done and just plain spectacular it was — and all from an office of just five women.

Surely, I thought, events like these require large teams of people to plan and pull off. No, it just takes a small core group of determined individuals to execute. That event assured me that I was working with excellence.

And that’s what you’ll find within these pages: Excellence.

There are CEOs, entrepreneurs, founders, veterans, scientists, teachers and so many other kinds of professionals that prove time and time again from their stories that focus, hard work, service, mentorship and teamwork can propel not just individuals but communities.

This year marks the 19th anniversary of Women of the Year, which also includes the Circle of Excellence — honorees who have been selected three times for WOY, the maximum number of times someone can be honored with the award.

Join us in celebrating the lives and accomplishments of the women in these pages.
