A health insurance provider in the Treasure Valley has partnered with a virtual health care provider to make it easier to access therapy services for its members.

Blue Cross of Idaho has partnered with Talkspace, providing convenient in the virtual space to its members, with access to the service on July 1 regardless of which plan they use.

Talkspace is a care provider, providing services through chat, video or audio sessions. It is able to provide therapy to individuals, couples and teenagers, including psychiatric treatment and medication management where appropriate.

The company provides treatment to approximately 200 million people in the U.S. through partnerships with providers like Blue Cross of Idaho, Aetna, Carelon, Cigna, Optum and other select Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.

“Blue Cross of Idaho members deserve access to mental health care that fits into their lives,” said Dawn Atkin vice president, Healthcare Operations for Blue Cross of Idaho. “That’s why we’re proud to partner with Talkspace to significantly enhance mental health services for all of our members, providing a direct line to an experienced, licensed professional anytime and anywhere they need support.”

For Talkspace, the goal is to be able to reach as many people as possible with affordable mental health care. The provider has licensed therapists throughout all 50 states.
