Delta to add nonstop flights between Boise and L.A.

Delta is adding nonstop flights between Boise and L.A. starting in June.
United serves the Boise-L.A. market now; Delta will make one additional flight to and from L.A. per day.
The Boise airport has been working to increase direct flights to nearby cities. Treasure Valley business leaders have cited a lack of connections between Boise and other cities as a hindrance to economic development. Airport officials recently announced that Southwest will provide a daily nonstop service between Boise and Chicago-Midway June 8. The Southwest Chicago flights will end sometime in June, said airport Director Rebecca Hupp Feb. 28.
The airport reported that passenger traffic rose 4.6 percent last year. Overall capacity also rose last year because the airport added routes and destinations, Hupp said.
