A nonprofit organization along with local businesses are revving up a new partnership to help a veteran in need.
The Wyakin Foundation and Adesa Autobody and other Boise businesses are teaming up for a campaign that will donate a fully restored vehicle to a veteran in the Treasure Valley. The goal is to honor a person’s service and restore independence “one set of keys at a time.”
Nominations for the inaugural Veterans Victory Wheels campaign are open until Aug. 15 and can be submitted through wyakin.org/veterans_victory_wheels. Community members are able to nominate a veteran they know that could benefit from having dependable transportation.
“This campaign is a powerful example of what’s possible when local businesses and the community come together to support our veterans,” a statement from the campaign read. “We’re honored to help launch this program and make a direct difference in one veteran’s life.”
The vehicle has already been provided to the campaign and restored and detailed by community partners, organizers said. The veteran who is selected will be surprised with the car later in the year in a special presentation.
